How I can walk with youEnd-of-life doula / companion services

Making space for the practical, the personal and the profound.

Where it begins

The Conversation

A space to talk openly about something we often find difficult to talk about.

A one-off or series of conversations for anyone who wants to explore their relationship with death. Whether they are completely well, facing illness, supporting someone they love, or simply feeling that it is time to have the conversation.

01

Beginning the Conversation

For those who are healthy and simply feel ready to think differently about death.

  • Exploring your thoughts, feelings and beliefs about death and dying. Beginning conversations you’ve been avoiding.
  • Exploring what matters most to you.
  • Reflecting on how you want to live now, in light of your mortality.
  • Supporting meaningful conversations with family and loved ones.
  • Creating greater comfort and confidence around talking about death.
02

Conscious Preparation

For those who want to put thoughtful plans in place - before there is a crisis.

  • Exploring your wishes and values for future care.
  • Advance care planning.
  • Documenting your preferences and wishes.
  • Discussing medical interventions and what quality of life means to you.
  • Preparing loved ones for your wishes.
  • Helping families understand and honour what matters to you.
  • Creating a personalised end-of-life plan.
03

When Illness or a Diagnosis Changes Things

Support doesn’t have to wait until the final stages.

  • Emotional and practical support following a diagnosis.
  • Making sense of what lies ahead.
  • Exploring fears, hopes and unfinished business.
  • Preparing for conversations with family and healthcare professionals.
  • Supporting decision making around end-of-life care.
  • Being alongside you as circumstances change.
04

During the Dying Process

A calm, grounded presence for the person who is dying and those around them.

  • Emotional, practical and non-medical companionship.
  • Supporting the family through the uncertainty of dying.
  • Helping loved ones understand what may be happening.
  • Creating a peaceful and meaningful environment.
  • Sitting vigil and holding presence.
  • Supporting rituals, meaningful moments and personal wishes.
  • Helping families navigate the transition from dying to death.
05

After Death

Because the relationship doesn’t simply end when someone dies.

  • Supporting family members immediately following a death.
  • Creating space to acknowledge and honour the person who has died.
  • Guidance and outward referral around early and longer-term grief.
  • Exploring rituals and meaningful ways to say goodbye.
  • Support through the practical and emotional transition into bereavement.
  • Outward referrals for professional support if and when required.

You don’t need a diagnosis, a prognosis or a timeline to begin.

Sometimes, all you need is the feeling that you’re ready to start the conversation.

Let us all become more conscious of death…and life…while we are still living.
